Hello everyone , I am travelling to Spain next week . I have been reading news about the protests going on . Is it advisable to travel to Spain ? Are the protests effecting any attractions for tourists ?

I was in Barcelona on Election Day (5/22) and Plaza Cataluna smelled like a pigstay--- just horrendous. people had been camping there for days. This is no judgement on their claims, no idea what these are about, but I was really looking forward to see and enjoy Plaza Cataluna and that wwas simply not to be had nor by me or anybody with a nose....a shame.

If I understand the news coverage of the sit-ins and demonstrations in Madrid or Barcelona correctly I got the impression that they demonstrate for better job opportunities and an improvement of the economy and not for early retirement.
Sometimes it cannot hurt to show at least a tiny bit of interest in the country you visit than just worry where to spend €100 on tapas.

There was a major protest last week at Plaza de Cibeles which would make it hard to visit the Prado and Retiro.
Last year there was a protest of farmers in Santiago and the used their tractors to block traffic.
But otherwise you should be fine.
