please help!

We are goining to Swiss, Austria, and a little bit of Bavaria in August for two weeks. I have been working on this for a long while and of course have not been able to make the final decisions. We do not like to pack and unpack all the time. I would like to know if we could stay in Hallstatt and take day trips to Salzburg and the surroundings. <BR>How many full days do I need in Salzburg? <BR>we would like to dine in the restaurants with musicians playing Mozart. We like to see anything that relates to Mozart. <BR>We are going to havr our own car.

Adeleh, <BR>"Please help" is a title that's not specific enough to attract responses. Repost your questions with a title regarding help for travel in Switzerland, Austria and Germany and you'll probably get meaningful answers.

Two days should be long enough to see everything.

Agree about being able to see most everything of interest in Salzburg in 2 days. A suggestion for a great hotel with a better location for day trips would be the Jagdhof am Fuschlsee in the little village of Hof, about 20 minutes east of Salzburg & only about 10 minutes off the autobahn & not too far to St Wolfgang, Bad Ischl, & Hallstadt. The hotel is a Best Western (look it up on their web site) & you'll probably need reservations (ask for a lake view in the main hotel...the rooms in their annex are just as good & all have a lake view. Hallstadt is just too remote to do day trips.
