Paris, Opera Garnier

I would be interested in walking around the opera house, mainly because of the impact that Phantom of the Opera had on me. I have been to the web site. I don't know if it is just me but I find it very confusing. There is not too much playing while I am in town that I would like to spend the money on so thought a tour of the place would me nice. But I cannot find any info of this on their web site. Can someone here help me.?

They sell tickets (about 6&euro to go inside. I think there is also an option for a tour, sometimes in English, but we just paid the 6€ and walked around on our own. I highly recommend it. It's a beautiful place. I have some photos of it here: www.pbase.com/annforcier/image/65269216

Those pictures are great. I love the Opera, just walking in it brought tears to my eyes. I found it so beautiful. When we did the tour we just walked in and asked when the next tour was. It was worth it, we learned a lot of history, plus she told us there was a free concert that evenig. We were able to get free tickets and sit in the box seats. The music was just so so, but sitting in those seats was incredible.

You can walk around the foyers unescorted, or you can take a guided tour.

Isabel,
Thank you for the photos. They are incredible. I took the liverty of looking at all your Paris photos. Great!
PatrickLondon,
Yes, that web site you posted gives me all the info. The one I was on had nothing about tours. I guess I was not on an official one. Thanks.
