Paris Air and Space Museum

Has anyone visited the musee de l'air et de l'espace at l'Aéroport de Paris-Le Bourget? My husband is a pilot and it looks like it might be worth a half day. Looks like access via bus from Paris or Bourget. I am sure he would know most of the exhibited aircraft without needing explanation, but assume a booklet is available in English?

I took my father, a pilot, there and he really enjoyed it. Lots of French planes as well as a 747 that you can go inside plus two concorde, one a test version and one a commerical version. You can walk through them as well. The signs were missing in front of alot of the aircraft and the map left something to be desired but he still enjoyed it as did I.

It's a worthful visit. There are a lot of really old planes too. Since you're going to be idle while your husband is looking at planes, why not take a bus and head towards Chantilly or the chateau. I think that the bus will direct from Bourget.

Another option would be a few hours at Paris Nord, which is very close. You'll need a taxi but it's not too far. A woman could spend a few hours easily.

There are some very good restuarants on the national route along side of the airport. Lots of good food and it's not too expensive.

Thanks for the first hand experiences.

I'll be going to the museum with him; we do endulge each other's interests. I had thought of day trip to Chantilly. Maybe there will be a way to combine the two if sufficient bus connections, then train back to Paris.
