Paris again...

We will be in Paris for the second time March 12-19. Staying at hotel grand Leveque. Our room has a large bed (shower/toilet)and courtyard what ever that means. Has anyone stayed at this hotel, it seems to be getting good reviews. Any comments on this type of room. Also any good restaurants or cafes in the area for a good breakfast and a good supper. Thanks in advance.

Last May we stayed at Champ du Mars, and will again this May. It is adjacent to Rue Cler and around the corner from your hotel. A poster to this forum (Donna) suggested Le Aberge (sp?) restaurant, and it was the best suggestion we received. It is owned by a young french couple and caters to American travelers (most of the customers).Food is delicious and the choices(4) of a pre-set menu includes salad, entree and dessert for a set price. On our first jam-packed day, it was comforting having so many english-speaking people around us and we exchanged information among us. In fact, that's where we met Monica and her mother. Other nights we were more adventuresome and couldn't understand anyone, nor were exactlly sure what we ordered (another adventure. In the 7th, there are several nice places to eat; we were never disappointed. Your hotel will gladly suggest one, and so will other tourists if you ask them. Enjoy your stay in Paris. The city is captivating and easy to navigate.

Stayed there 2 1/2 years ago. The hotel has a small courtyard (not much to speak of), so I assume your room faces the courtyard versus the street. We requested a room on the courtyard based on a recommendation I had read somewhere. This cuts down on noise. We slept wonderfully. The area seemed very quiet to me, since there was little vehicular traffic.

Have stayed there twice in a room at the back ; nothing fancy, but its clean and they had revamped the bath in our room. Can't remember any restaurants to recommend but there is every kind of shop imaginable on Rue Cler to buy "take-along" food. I would not stay anywhere else on my next visits to Paris. The desk staff were also very kind.
