paris accomodation

We are looking for accomodation in St. Germain or the Latin Quarter in June. 90 euros or less would be preferable. Clean and comfortable would also be preferable.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

It's weird - I can see I posted when in the "post a reply" mode but not on the actual thread... well, I'll post it again, sorry if it eventually shows up as duplicated...

Also I added Hotel de Suez, and removed Hotel Cujas Pantheon (not such good comments after all)...

That's a low budget for such a popular area, especially the 6th...and please define "comfortable"...for 90€ don't expect a large room or king-size bed... (actually never expect a large room unless spending €€€!!

Hotels that are in your budget but have some favorable comments (see also Tripadvisor.com):

Hotel des Mines ** (5th) 70-99€

Hotel de Suez** (5th) 75-95€

Hotel du College de France ** (5th)78-110€

Hotel des Trois Colleges** (5th) 89-97E

Hôtel Perreyve** (6th) 90-105€

Hotel Welcome ** (6th) 96-106€

Elaine, the Hotel du Lys is now 115 euro.

Jenpen25, last summer Conde Nast Travel magazine ran a piece that listed "affordable" hotels in 5-6 cities in Europe, and for Paris it mentioned www.hotelsunny.com (74 euro) and www.hotelportroyal.fr for 76.5 euro. They are both on blvd Port Royal in the 5th, and the websites look good. I've never stayed at either but would consider the source to be reliable, since the magazine is generally very upscale.

Good luck!

I'd take all the recommendations above and then make sure that you cannot get a lower price through a discounter such as discounthotel.com or eurocheapo.com

Thanks to everybody for the suggestions! We'll definitely check them out . . . and post the result once we've actually stayed at one of these places. Cheers!
