Paris
I'm going to Paris in the beginning of April. I'll be staying close to the Eiffel tower and searching for some restaurant tips in the area. I love real French food!
I've been to Paris three times before and are looking for something special to do and see since I've already visit the major sites. I'm running the marathon one day so I'd prefer some activity that doesn't require too much exercising. Thanks!

I would recommend either of these two options for excellent French food: Le Café de Commerce on rue du Commerce (about 20 minutes' walk south of the Tower) or Le P'tit Troquet, about 7 minutes' walk, on rue de l'Exposition.

20 minutes' walk south of the Tour Eiffel is hardly in the neighborhood, considering all the other options.
But we do need to know where exactly your hotel is. "Near the Eiffel Tower" could be in many places.
In the general vicinity east of the TE are Le Florimond, Auberge Bressane, Thoumieux, Punjab, Café Constant, Le Violon d'Ingres, La Fontaine de Mars, and all the places around the Place Ecole Militaire, plus Thai, Chinese, and everything else on the Avenue Bosquet.

20 min walks is not a big deal. My metro stop is Passy, so I'm on the other side of Seine.
I'm looking for places that serve real french food and it doesn't have to be super chic. Budget - 20/25 € for main dish.
For things to do we would like to see some historical sights. Is Versailles overrated or should we visit it? I've only been to the gardens which were nice. If we go there should we book tickets before? I remember it was a huge line.
