PalenQ has Died

We have lost a great contributor to the European Forum.

PalenQ helped man here with his knowledge of Europe and mainly seems to know much about train schedules throughout Europe.

I am sure he has touched many hearts here and at times we may have taken his advice and support for granted because he was always so helpful.

He left a great many friends in the Fodor's Lounge where he also was a regular contributor of many topics.

Our deepest condolences to his family

:pray::pray: **== **==

God Bless and Rest in Peace PalenQ, you will be deeply missed by so many. ((L))

Oh, no, no, no, no. What terrible news. He did indeed make huge contributions to the Europe boards and will be greatly missed.

If I had one in town I'd visit the Febo in his memory - visiting the coffeeshop is going too far.
Rust zacht Bob. Dank u very much ;)

Pal was passionate about European train travel and a lot of other things...atheism and weed come to mind ; ) . Chatty, incorrigible, and not afraid of controversy, he was generous, polite and seemingly unfazed by the occasionally harsh responses he received over the many years he posted here.

He brought a lot to the forum and I will miss him and his point of view.

Weirdly, I'm in a position to do both.

Oh no. I have followed his posts since early 2000. I am sad for his family.

Pal, you were a good man. May you rest in peace in a garden full of Mayan ruins and Swiss trains.

Condolences.

I don‘t know how many posts he started or commented on but it must have been thousands.
Each time I checked the Europe forum or the lounge there was something from him.
The stories from yesteryear from Amsterdamned or anything on trains. Or just the random discussions about any topic one can or cannot imagine.
That won’t happen anymore and I already start to miss it.

In reward for his uncountable contributions I therefore suggest to reward Pal posthumously the title of Fodorgarch extra-ordinaire.

RIP, good man.

Pal is a forum legend. His knowledge on Swiss trains and his willingness to help is a hard act to follow. Danke für alles, Pal.

What a blow to all of us who revisited this board often and to any future new poster seeking an expert opinion. Percy, I am grateful that you posted. Please do pass on our condolences.

RIP Pal. I'll miss our good-natured sparring over college football.

Oh, that is sad news. He was annoying and he was often wonderful. Does anybody know how old he was?
