Other than rental car and AVE train, what are other options to get from Madrid to Seville?

You could fly Spanair, but it flies via Barcelona and appears to take as long - probably longer, considering the time to get to the airport, than the train, an on the train, you could stop over in Cordoba to visit the Mezquita

SociBus/SecorBus does that route. I have taken the overnight bus: Departs Madrid's Estación Sur de Autobus around midnight, arrives Sevilla's Plaza de Armas bus station 6:00 AM. There's also one in the daytime but the scenery isn't all that worthwhile.
As I recall, it cost about 30 Euro and they give a 10% 'Senior' discount for 'over 60.' You don't get a senior discount unless you ask for it.
