Was wondering if we should consider using Olympic for round trip from Munich to Athens in June?<BR>Anyone recently fly Olympic? What was your experieince? Heard it may go bankrupt - is this true?

hi there,<BR>from all the (west) european airlines Olympic is shure that with the badest reputations. Old equipment, unfriendly stuff, lot of delates. They were talking about bankrupt, but no news about this to be heard. I only used them once, they lost my luggage and I had to go next day to the airport to get it - no word of sorry, no Drachme for taxi and time.<BR>Gar

I went to Greece last night and flew Olympic. I wouldn't recommend it although I think it's somewhat unavoidable if you're going to a specific destination. Our flight taking off from Santorini was very late so we ended up missing our flight from Athens to Frankfurt and ended up having to buy new tickets on Olympic. You're allowed to smoke on the flights which was an utter nightmare as you probably can imagine and the plane was just a mess. I'd try another airline if possible.

Sorry- I meant I went to Greece last year, not last night.

We flew Olympic airlines between Athens and the various islands. (Not TO Greece from the US) and their service was exemplary, as well as their on-time record. However we had heard such horror stories about them, I don't know if I would consider them to and from the US... I have also heard rumblings of bankruptcy... I wouldn't pick them to get me to Greece. But certainly we didn't have a single complaint in 2000 traveling between the islands.
