Normandy Lodging--Still looking

can anyone recommend a moderately priced placed to stay in the Normanday (War Beaches) area? I'm thinking about staying for 1 night in Bayeaux, or one of the shore towns of Honfleur, Deauville, Tourville. I'd prefer Bayeaux, since it will be most convenient to Omaha Beach etc. Any thoughts? We're leaving in 6 weeks.

Invest in or borrow a Michelin Red Guide. Or, when you get to Normandy, go to any town's "syndicat d'initiatif" (sort of a tourists' bureau) and ask for their list of B&Bs.

Hello Jim: We booked Hotel Notre Dame just this morning. We also wanted to be in Bayeux because of it being so central to the WW2 beaches. This hotel is really inexpensive and its recommended in Rick Steves books. It probably doesnt have an elevator but its right across fro the cathedral. The phone no is 011 33 2 31 92 87 24. I also had an internet request for a room at the chateau Bellefontaine nearby and they just sent me an email that they have rooms open for the week we will be there, so you might want to check that out.It sounded nice. Are you taking any tours of the beaches or just going along with a guidebook? Have fun! Patty
