I agree with the others that there is too much for one day. However, when we went, we only had one day for Normandy, so we made the best of it and we just plan to return to see the rest.
We hired a private driver from Paris. He picked us up at our hotel early in the morning and we headed over. Stopped for lunch at Port-en-Bessin, stopped in Caen for the museum (absolutely a must see, IMO!), then continued on to Omaha Beach and the American Cemetary. Stopped in Bayeaux for the tapestry on the way back to Paris. Arrived back at our hotel around 8 or 9pm, so it was a long day, but definitely worth it!
