Next 3 weeks in France-Riviera,Provence,Paris

Hi, We leave next week for 3 weeks in France. Sept. 20-27 Antibes, Sept. 27-Oct.4th near St. Remy, and Oct. 4-11 in Paris. I've been reading the forums and taking notes but any last minute tips on packing, favorite towns, restaurants, or must do's? Will the beaches still be open in the Riviera in late Sept.? Thank you so much.

Joan, I have few suggestions, but I just wanted to say you will love the Antibes area (does anybody NOT?). Oh one thing, we rented scooters in Juans les Pins, but the scooter they gave me was way to big and I had an accident around the corner from the rental place. So, if you decide to do it, just be careful what you rent. While we were in Juans (I think we had 6 nights), we visited Monaco, Cannes, Biot (loved that little town), Antibes, Juans les Pins (of course) and St. Tropez. We did have a car. Have a great trip!

You will certainly be able to use the beaches in September.

Some of our Provence favorites in the St. Remy area...dinner at Jardin de Frederic. We had the best foie gras on the trip there, my smoked salmon was also excellent....Arles on market day. I know everyone raves about the L'Isle sur la Sorgue market, but we really enjoyed Arles....picnicing next to the river at Fontaine-de-Vaucluse with our goodies purchased at the L'Isle market.

We had a wonderful dinner with the nicest hosts at La Riboto de Taven. It is located in Les Baux at the foot of the rock formations and the location is really dramatic. Also we stayed in Lourmarin and explored the hilltop towns from there and loved Bonnieux and Lacoste. Just driving through stunning scenery in the Alpilles and Luberon area was really interesting. Read a "Year in Provence" while you are there!

Be sure to get to Nice and Monaco. Monaco is really magical and so beautiful. Tour the palace; it's worth it.
