cmt Aug 9th, 2003 07:55 PM

A breed of wild horses, descended in part from Arabians, found in a green mountain area known for hazelnut trees, sausage made from black pigs, Norman towns.

13 letters; "t" is the 7th

San Fratellano

cmt Aug 9th, 2003 08:10 PM

Very good. They are native to the Nebrodi Mountains, a beautiful, green area of Sicily.

Your turn.

Clifton Aug 9th, 2003 08:19 PM

I was off learning more about the horses. Sounds like a beautiful area.

I'll through one out that will hopefully be easy. History stuff

A deposed king and a citrus prince of differing faiths faced off in a final battle in this beautiful valley.

Five letters, the second being the "O" from San Fratellano.

Clifton Aug 9th, 2003 08:20 PM

Throw one even. Through one? :)

cmt Aug 9th, 2003 08:40 PM

Boyne??

Re: the Nebrodi--Yes, it's a very beautiful and unspoiled area. Half my ancestry is from that general area of Sicily (not within the parklands, but very near it).

Clifton Aug 9th, 2003 08:51 PM

Ah, told you it wasn't going to be a terribly tough one, but we hadn't had one from my favorite place Ireland yet. :)

I admit I had to google for San Fratellano, as I haven't had the pleasure yet. The inevitable reading that follows looking up these answers sure expands the "to do" list though. Thanks for the opportunity!

Over to you!

cmt Aug 9th, 2003 09:28 PM

Where little boxers, stigma pluckers, red men with fish, and antelopes were found.

8 letters; the "o" of Boyne is the 4th letter of this new word

cmt Aug 10th, 2003 03:40 AM

Need a further hint? Add to the list above: also monkeys and aquatic creatures.

cmt Aug 10th, 2003 03:34 PM

Did you forget this?
