Need Help With Last Details of France Trip

I posted this at the end of another one of my threads but I decided to give it a home of its own. Okay I think we've got most of it, just needs a little tweaking.

June 9 Leave USA for France
June 10 Arrive in Paris
June 10-16 Paris (with day trips to versailles and possibly giverny)
June 17 Leave Paris by train or pick up rental car head to Bayeux (possibly stop in giverny)
**Where should we pick up rental car?**
June 17-18 Bayeux, 18th battlebus tour of beaches
June 19 leave Bayeux for MSM overnight stay on mont
June 20 Explore MSM & leave for ????

This is where I need your help. We have until possibly June 23. Our flight leaves Paris Orly June 24 at 10:15am.

Should we stay in Brittany or try to drive down to the Lorie region to see the Chateaus then come in to Orly from that direction? Train in or drop car off at Orly?

Everything is set with airfare & hotel for the above initerary. We just need to add to June 20, 21, 22, 23. We'll probably need to be back in Paris on the evening of the 23rd.

Merci,
Amy

Brittany around Dinan for 3 nights. Lots of stuff to see around there - St Malo, Cote d'Emeraude, Dinan, Forte la Latte, Cap Frehel, etc. Just remember that on the Sunday you're there, shops in towns wil be closed so don't visit Dinan or St Malo then - do the coast, Rance things.

Monday, drive to Rennes & visit (one of my favorite towns in France). Then take the 4:05pm TGV to Paris and stay at a hotel close to the Montparnasse station. Next morning, on to Orly.

Thanks Stu, you're always so helpful. Are there any great markets on Sunday? What about in Rennes?

We went to the Loire in Sept. by train from Paris, picked up a car at the train station for 4 days. It was one of our best French adventures. Stayed at www.ChateauPerreux.com just outside of Amboise, and we can't say enough good things about the place.

We toured Chambord, Chenenceau, Villandry, and the Divinci house. All were stunning and we plan to go back to see the rest in the future.

You could get the train to Orly from the Loire.

Consider staying in Dinan. We were there for 4 nights. It has some wonderful restaurants & shops! Also, it is easy to navigate in & out for day trips.

We loved the drives through the Breton countryside & villages and by farms that seemed to go on forever! You will see amazing vistas on the trip to Cap Frehel along the Cote d'Emeraude! Fougeres is also worth a visit.

Your trip is coming together nicely --- not long now!

I just got back from Brittany this evening and I guarantee that you will love it! St.Malo was wonderful and Rennes is def worth seeing. Staying in the Brittany region will allow you to relax and enjoy yourselves (and get a better taste of the area) instead of moving around too much, by driving down to the Loire.

The pre-game stuff is horrible - so I'm back at the PC.

I didn't find any markets on Sunday near Dinan. Drive along the coast, Forte la Latte, etc. The interior countryside in that region is quite scenic also.
