Movies featuring Paris and French countryside?

I know, I know. There must have been many posts on this topic, but I searched under "film" and "movie(s)" and did not find anything.

I'm going to rent "Until September" again this weekend. Sigh...very romantic.
Then, of course, there's "A Man and a Woman", the most romantic movie ever made.

Please name some others with scenes of Paris. I'm going in the Fall and love to see beautiful movie shots of the place I'm going.

Diva, of course, and La Balance (try and get subtitled versions, not dubbed). The Meryl Streep movie Plenty--an interesting story with some beautiful French scenery mixed in and at the end. Frantic, with Harrison Ford. A View to a Kill is one of the lamer James Bond movies, but does have lots of Paris scenes, including the restaurant in the Eiffel Tower.
A little known but entertaining movie (it was in theatres about three days)with great scenes of Berlin and Paris is Company Business, starring Gene Hackman and Mikhail Baryshnikov.
Although it's TV, not the movies, the Year in Provence mini-series (starring the late John Thaw) is available on video and is very scenic as well as fun to watch.

And the "previous" Bourne Identity with Jacklyn Smith and Richard Chamberlain had some interesting scenes.

Will they ever write any original scripts, or must we continue to endure remake after remake, some of which are awful!

j

Hi Jeanne, mountaineer here. I was going to say Jean de Florette and Manon of the Spring, but cmt beat me to it. They are beautiful (and sad) movies about Provence.

Hey, Lynn! "Charade" and "It takes a Thief"...I'd forgotten those two...both old favorites. Have you seen "Until September"? A sweet little romance (he's gorgeous!) with a bittersweet twist. LOTS of good French scenes.

Thanks everyone, some great titles here.

As an additional question, I have the film 'A Year In Provence'. Can anyone tell me the villages it was filmed in. I know Peter Mayle lived in Menerbes which I visited last summer, I actually saw the 'Cafe De Progress', but did the goat race take place in Rousillon etc?

Thanks Buzzy

correction: in my list above Goddard did "breathless" and like trouffaut, I commend all of their new wave films. All the early Jean Seaburg films like "Bonjour Tristesse"
