Money

Do I need any cash other than Euros? I will be in Switzerland and France and have heard that small towns only accept Francs.

Switzerland has not converted its currency to the Euro, therefore you need to use Swiss Francs. In France, you may use the Euro. Bring your ATM card for withdrawals, and you'll be fine.

If you want to be safe, go to your American Express travel office and get $50 worth of both currencies before you go. Then use your ATM as Leslie suggested. Money just isn't a hassle unless you are going to Everest base camp and I'm sure there are ATMs even in Katmandu.
