Mephistos worth the price?

I know there are many Mephisto addicts out there, and I'd like to hear your testimonies. I plan to purchase $190 Mephisto Zelda sandals, and although I'm all for quality, I need some moral support here that I'm making the right decision. I have never worn Mephistos, so please talk to me.

I bought Mephisto boots in Rome last year, where they only cost $180 - and I've worn them all over Chicago (where I live) and Paris and Venice on vacations - in retrospect, I would have cheerfully paid twice as much for them - they've been that great! If you're headed to Europe, you may want to consider waiting to buy them 'til you get there - where they are quite a bit less expensive.

I have a pair of Mephisto Holiday walking shoes that my feet and legs just love. I can walk and stand all day. But I bought a pair of Mephisto Helen sandals and my legs would ache after wearing them. So not all Mephistos are created equal.

I wear Mephisto Helen sandals and have 3 pairs. I have walked all over Italy, France, Ireland, etc. with them and refuse to go on vacation without them. However, my sandals cost me around $100.00 so I'm not familiar with the "Zelda" model. Also, I understand that if the shoes should "wear out" they can be re-made at about 1/2 the cost of buying new so you really can't go wrong. Ask where you buy about this. I have purchased them at Nordstroms and the Walking Store. Good Luck.

IF ONLY WE COULD "TEST" DRIVE OUR SHOES/SANDALS !!!

I've been there Paula - it's alot of dollars to plunk down, but there's nothing like hurtin' feet to ruin a vacation. I am a satisfied Mephisto sandal owner. For most people they seem to be worth the investment. And there has been a few discussion topics on this sight as to how/where to get them a slightly lower rates.
If you're in southern California, I believe someone's mentioned a marketplace somewhere in Orange County; also, folks have suggested they can be cheaper in some European locales. But for the most part, you get what you pay for in this world - so just go for it and don't look back.

Thanks folks.

I actually went to a Mephisto trunk show at the local fine shoe store. The Zelda sandals are a new style and had to be ordered. They said they would be in by the end of the week.

Well, I got a call yesterday saying they couldn't get them for some reason! Hope this isn't a bad sign. I guess I'll just have to order them through another company.
