Madrid museums

Planning on visiting the Prado. Thyssen, and Reina Sofia museums, I bought a Paseo del Arte pass for all three. Now I find that to enter the Prado, the pass must be exchanged at the museum for an actual ticket. Can I do this the day before I plan to visit the Prado? Another question: can I enter the Prado, exit for lunch elsewhere, then come back in the same day? Thanks janeos

Welcome, janeos! If memory serves, you must first get the actual pass at the Prado. The site says you have a year to use it so you should be able to come and go. Anyone know for sure?

At the Prado the Paseo del Arte pass must be exchanged at the box office for an actual ticket.

About your second question, the answer is NO.
This is the response I received from the Prado:

"Good morning,
Please note that it is not possible to leave and re-enter the museum with the same ticket. Once you have entered, you may remain inside until closing time if you wish.

Best regards,
Centro de Atención al Visitante
Museo Nacional del Prado"
