The re-creation of the Iron Curtain looks interesting. I've never been to the gardens in the fall. How lovely with the leaves turning gold and red.

It's funny, I live near Golden Gate Park in San Francisco and actually really enjoy walking over with my dog on a busy-with-tourists afternoon. Seeing things through their eyes helps me remember why I pay such exorbitant sums to live here and appreciate the city.

Just to add my name to this list- I love these pix! and the leaves turn so early. I will be there next May-

The trees in Paris get their leaves earlier than in a lot of places -- usually by early March some of the trees start turning green. I think it might be one of the reasons that the leaves start falling earlier as well.

Have just returned from our big trip and our last few hours were spent in the Luxembourg gardens as we were staying across the street from them. We have many of the same pictures you have taken, on our camera. We visited the gardens several times during our visit but especially liked the last day as it was so quiet and peaceful-the weather showing just a hint of autumn. It was the perfect ending to our trip.

kerouac,

I somehow missed this thread and your original link no longer works. I also searched the "Any Port in a Storm" site and couldn't find the thread. This may be my error.

If the pics are still available could you please add the link here?

Thank you.

Oh -- sorry! That site moved its threads around and it broke a lot of the links.

Here is a new link (it was on page 2 of the Paris section):

Beautiful, just beautiful Kerouac. Thank you and Aloha

"The Tour Montparnasse is the most visible sight from the Luxembourg gardens and has looked inappropriate since the day it was built."

I couldn't agree more.

Thank you kerouac. Love it.

I was suddenly reminded of a Sunday morning game of boules I saw in the Luxembourg in 2005:

But have many wonderful memories of Luxembourg Gardens - only in August though.

Sigh. Those are wonderful shots. I have just returned from 3 weeks in France, 7 days of which were spent in Paris. Looking at these just makes me want to return for a 5th visit.
I, too, cannot read in the Jardin: too much people-watching to accomplish.
