Thanks for the photos. My husband and I spent much of our last trip to Paris in the park with our toddler. My friends wondered why I went all the way to Europe to go to a "playground". Those are the friends that haven't spent time in the Luxembourg Gardens....

Loved the photos. Am surprised that the trees are turning already. Only a few have started here in Chicagoland. Thanks for a bit of Paris!

Sally30 -- we also spent the majority of our last trip at Luxembourg! The playground is amazing, isn't it? I love that there are no language barriers between children on a playground. They have a way of sorting it all out.

Kerouac, such very beautiful vistas,but they make me sad. Sob, no Paris for me this year or for the foreseeable future (damn that sinking Pension fund!)

I'd be willing to brave the 25 hours plus from Australia in a heart beat just to walk in this park again.

We've always visited Europe in very late Summer/ Autumn for the fewer crowds, cooler weather, and the light. Such wonderful soft , gentle light and such a contrast and a balm for Australian eyes.

You made me pine for it so much seeing your magnificent photos- thanks for the delightful "pain'!

We spent a couple of hours in Luxembourg gardens on Saturday. It was refreshingly not crowded even on the weekend. The Technoparade blew by which was the loudest, craziest parade I've ever experienced. The mess left behind was shameful. A swarm of green trash trucks followed it collecting all the debris.

After the parade passed the area an orchestra started playing in the park, to restore the sanity!

So beautiful!

We stayed nearby several years ago in early October and the park looked just like this.

We enjoyed the park so much. I especially remember Sunday afternoon seeing the children with their boats and others riding ponies.

Yes, I'd love to be there right now!

These are lovely, kerouac, but frankly just plain mean for those of us who have no idea when we'll get back to Paris. Really, it's painful for me to see this. I know you meant no harm, but I could just cry looking at these.
