These are wonderful photos!

I especially liked seeing places I've not been..Riva for one!

Your apt.n Verona looked quite nice, too.

Enjoyed reading your trip report and am now viewing your pictures. ><
Agree with Jody on Riva --- adding it on my places to visit in Italy list.

Thanks all. Yes, Riva really was special. I wish we'd spent a night or two there. I can't wait to explore the other lakes now--they're on our ever-growing list.

Nice photos! Did you enjoy Mantova? What did you think of Vicenza? The tour of the villas?

I would love to go to Verona at some point--still haven't been. Thanks for posting these! It looks like you had a great time.

Jackie,

Mantova didn't really strike us, but we loooooved Vicenza. Verona felt like it was tailor-made for me: just the right size, easy to walk around, and I loved the cheerful confidence of the locals. Check out the link in the first post for my full trip report.

Follow-up to something on the trip report thread: I bought tickets through culturalitaly.com for a concert in Venice, but they gave me the wrong time so we missed it. I emailed culturalitaly today and told them what happened. They immediately replied, saying they'll reimburse us AND waive the reservation fee next time we use them for tickets. Just wanted to give kudos to culturalitaly for doing the right thing.

That's good news, Jocelyn! Was culturalitaly able to tell why it happened? AMC

Hi AnneMarie,

No explanation, just a frank apology. I was prepared for a fight, so I'm happy. I guess I could be a real jerk about it and demand reimbursement for the vaparetto ride and pain and suffering.

Jocelyn:

That's interesting about Mantova. I actually really like the city with its piazzas all bumping into each other. And the lake surrounding is beautiful. I have yet to go to Vicenza, but my husband would like to visit, so I think it's on our list.

I want to go to Verona too. Somehow I've yet to visit!
