Killarney - reposting question

I posted on the general Europe board without realizing. Hopefully this will now get to the Ireland board.

I'm planning a trip for my dad and brother for a week in April and thanks to earlier help from fodorites have the itinerary pretty much planned. There is, however, one spot I can't piece together. They will be in Cashel on Day 2 (at Legends for one night), then I thought to send them through Killarney (Day 3) and onto Dingle (Days 4 and 5) where they are at The Shores for two nights. My problem: what to do about day 3 (and night). Do I have them stay another night at Legends and just drive through the National Park? Do I have them stay in Killarney (and where)? Do I have them stay in Kenmare, which is so charming but seems a little off the route? Any suggestions? Thanks

Hi P,

There is only one board for the whole of Europe.

Click on your name to get all of your posts.

I just re-posted too because clicking on my name was the only way to bring up my thread ie. When checking if any responses, I typed "Ireland" into the search box and lots of stuff came up but my original post seemed to have disappeared. The only way to see it was to click on my name. So if I can't find it under "search" what gives?

starfish1: did you click on Ireland BEFORE you posted your thread? If not it will not come up when you click on Ireland now. Clicking on any country will only bring up threads where that country was clicked in the first place. It is really only a search tool to locate some threads about a particular place. The general search function will bring up much more. Re-posting is almost never necessary - unless the title is bad to begin with.

POIson: There is only one forum -- EUROPE.

My bad. Thank you janisj, THAT explains it. No I never did click on Ireland on the OP so live and learn. And I've been using this forum for a long time, you'd think I should know!

Thanks for all the posting help. My original concern was the same as starfish - I couldn't find it under Ireland (I'd not clicked Ireland when posting it the first time) and thought those most likely to answer my question would also not see it as it quickly became buried among all the Europe questions without the Ireland designation.

Does anyone have any suggestions for lodging in Killarney?

We stayed in Carriglea House in Oct 04. It is very near the entrance to the Park, but not within walking distance of the town. You can take a look at it at www.carrigleahouse.com. Our room was huge, and in the early morning from our window we could see a herd of deer across the street in the park. The rooms are huge with antiques and flocked wallpaper.
