Well here we in lovely London, we arrived Monday night after 26 hours traveling, no complaints we were up the pointy end of the plane . High lights so far seeing DD#1, who moved here two months ago and spending a couple of hours meandering around Hyde Park.
We had a couple of hours to spare this morning before we head out to Heathrow to 'collect' DH's aunty who is joining us for a week.
So we jumped on a tube from Earls Crt to London Bridge and walked across the bridge to the Borough Markets. What a wonderful place. Spent about an hour wandering around taste testing and taking it all in. I then knew where to head for our lunch. After reading about it on this site several times I had the pleasure of a Raclette, the best toasted sandwich EVER. Sour dough bread with two types of cheese and half way through cooking they open it up and add onions and leek. YUM. DH had the potatoe with melted cheese, small new potatoes oozing with melted cheese.
We just love having our Oyster card, purchased at a newstand on the first day. Too easy.
Thanks

When you go in the main entrance, kind of bear to your right toward the exit in the rear. They are hand dived and served grilled in the shell with a bit of green slaw, there is a hard cider place right across from there! Around 3 pounds maybe less, the DH pays! ANd on your way out, by the main entrance there is a cheese place that sells little pots of creme caramel!

HI annhig, just great thanks. Exactly what we'd hoped for (could've done with out the stress but alls well that ends well) great location, 5mins to Earls crt tube and just round the corner from a massive Tesco.
Thanks for the weather too ;-) just perfect. Having a lovely time, have to do some real touristy things for the next couple of days as Dh's aunt is here for the first time. Also thinking we may rent a car from Heathrow on Wednesday and do a little day trip out to Windsor, Stone Henge and maybe Bath, Aunt J and DD#1 would both love it. Just have to work out the most economical way to do it.

Frenchwow, try looking at www.londontown.com. I always find good rates on better hotels there. Staying at Millenium Gloucester for $120.00 a night in October
