Is Monaco actually calm in spring?

Hey, quick question for anyone who’s been to Monaco around springtime.

Someone told me their trip felt surprisingly quiet and relaxed, which I didn’t really expect from Monaco. They said the weather was perfect, flowers everywhere, and the sea looked super calm.

They arrived when the Monaco Grand Prix setup was just starting, and even that felt more interesting than chaotic. Like people just watching the streets slowly turn into a racetrack.

They also mentioned visiting the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco and really enjoying how peaceful it was inside. And walking near the Prince's Palace of Monaco, just taking it slow.

Food sounded simple too, seafood, small cafés, and trying socca while sitting outside and doing nothing for a bit.

So now I’m wondering, is Monaco really like this in spring, or was that just one lucky experience?

I have found the South of France, ,including the less than 1 square mile that is Monaco, very calm and peaceful in "springtime". That has been my experience in May and even into June - outside of big special events.

""Someone told me their trip felt surprisingly quiet and relaxed"

Monaco itself is so tiny, it's hard know what you are expecting, but even Nice and Cannes felt quiet and relaxed, although not as relaxed as a a few km or miles away in the countryside.

Perhaps you should tell us what you are expecting Monaco to be like. Maybe also how much time you plan to spend there.

Here are some photos taken in Cannes (11 miles down the road) on a Tuesday afternoon in late May. One could almost call Cannes "sleepy" that afternoon. No crowds. No traffic congestion. A friend had attended the Cannes Film Festival a few days before and it was completely different during the event.

Added Monaco to your mythical spring trip now? How long is this trip and when is it ever going to happen?

At least reply to comments on ONE of your threads.... if only to confirm you're not "artificial."
