Internet access while in Yorkshire

I will be in Yorkshire this summer (near Filey), and I was wondering if anybody knows whether I, as a tourist, will be able to use the computers they have at the local libraries in order to surf the net. I know there are internet cafes all over the UK,but unfortunately not anywhere close to where we will be staying. So,I am hoping that I will be able to email my husband from the local library. Is this true?
Thanks for all your help!

I don't know about Filey specifically (I'd e-mail the library to make sure) but I have used library computers in lots of places in the UK.

A quick google shows several cafes in Filey that offer t'internet (as they call it in the north - where it is grim).

Nowhere in Filey is far from anywhere else in Filey.

Make sure you eat the fish n chips.

Hi minimeike - we were in Yorkshire in Sept. and always used the local libraries for the internet. We were staying north of Filey, near Pickering. You may have to pay - Yorkshire was the only place in England where we had to pay. It was a pound for 1/2 an hour. If you don't have to pay, you will be probably be restricted to an hour's use at a time. If you are staying for a week or more you can also ask the librarian if you can become a temporary member - that way you can take out books, too. We did this in a number of places.

Have a great visit.

In the UK, you can register in any town as a visitor and use the computers in the library. Internet cafe access varies a lot from town to town.
