Well Barbara, if they are in a show that you love to watch, then you are forced to watch them. I loved Survivor, so I had to watch them. I love TAR, so yes we were forced to watch them. I did not watch their wedding or his poker show and absolutely won't watch any other show they are on by themselves. So, yes, we were forced to watch them on TAR.

"Of course, Rob's "routing" was not incorrect, his spelling was." I personally don't care why they were eliminated, I'm just glad they were.

You sound like Rob explaining how Uchenna and Joyce unfairly beat them and won the million, or "took the million out of my pocket." as he put it.

I almost hate to revive this thread, but hey, they actually made it to Europe last Sunday! They spent almost 2 hours racing through Warsaw, Auschwitz and Krakow. Looks like a beautiful country but the inhabitants seemed very stand-offish. None seemed to have a sense of humor and they certainly didn't go out of their way to help any of the contestants. Someday I still hope to go there but this really made me reconsider.

Glad to see Team Guido gone. I'm getting to really like the two Beauty Queens - very respectful and courteous to the suckers that offer to help them (and like I wouldn't), positive attitude and though a bit conniving at times, they pull it off without looking like bee-otches.

And even though Myrna and Schmyrna usually irritate me when they act like New York Yentas I'm starting to respect them. The shorter one has a lot of guts and tenacity.

"And even though Myrna and Schmyrna ....act like New York Yentas ."

Well, I don't like they way they were demanding help from the Poles who didn't have a clue as to why they were so desperate or what the race was all about. Just brings about more ugly American sentiment.

And I'm not sure I like the idea of including Auschwitz in this race as a mandatory stop or making the contestant gorge themselves on Kielbasa until they puke (on camera). Puleeze.....

Some people thrive on the adversity, real or contrived, of others.

How can you respect those two?? The way they are soooo disrespectful to the locals and also to each other is just plain disgraceful. They are truly the "ugly American" and are an embarrassment to all. Their slow, loud talk with a fake accent to the locals is just the biggest showing of disrespect there is. No wonder people didn't want to help them. Asking the cab driver "you like sausage?" in a very condescending way was very humiliating. Embarrassing, just very embarrassing.

Amen to that DinPa! I can't wait to see those two go! I even found myself laughing when Charla was dressed in the suit of armor and fell over not once but twice and Myrna just kept yelling at her...iritated me beyond belief!

And Zeus...I was in Krakow last September and found the residents there wonderful...I may not have been able to speak Polish, but I had no difficulty communicating with shop keepers and servers in restaurants...a smile goes a long way!

Yea, but I bet you didn't get in a taxi and say "hey, you like Polish sausage?" to the driver! That's when I turned the show off.

Our "Amazing Race" which we had today in Southern France consisted of the TGV which travelled 574,8 km/h and broke its previous record.

Now that's fast.

NeoPatrick...you are right, I NEVER would have asked a taxi driver if they liked Polish sausage!

I missed the two hour episode on Sunday night, but saw the Guidos the next morning on the CBS morning show, including the "real" Guido, their dog. Sorry to not have seen the part in Poland, a country we'd like to visit.

What was the problem with the Kielbasa sausage? We often eat it with no bad results. Certainly not even close to some of the gross things racers have been required to eat in previous races!

Giovanna, it wasn't the kielbasa was bad quality or gross or anything, but that it was TWO FEET LONG! That's a lot of sausage!

Thanks for the info Amy. No wonder they were having a problem! That is a ton of sausage indeed.

Myrna and Schmyrna don't act like NY yentas - they act like annoying people. Puhleeze don't compare them to New Yorkers, I being one of them. Of all Americans, we are probably the most used to people from all over the world and would never act in a condescending manner like they do. That being said, from what we are shown on the program, it's hard to understand why the Polish poeple they approached in Krakow didn't want to help them - not even policemen! That's the police's job.

One thing is easy to forget. We saw two women walking down the street asking a policeman for help. In reality (remember this IS called reality TV) what the policemen saw was an entire entourage of upwards of a dozen people coming down the sidewalk -- a camerman, a sound man with a big overhead boom, a director, a couple of technicians, etc.

So it is impossible to believe that the policemen were simply ignoring the girls. First of all the girls never stopped and approached a policeman. They just kept walking as they called to the policemen who were going the other direction. What this means is probably one of two things:
A) The policemen were instructed to ignore them per the "writers" of the show to see what kind of reaction they would get.
B) The policeman saw all this stuff happening and it looked like a set up for a big stunt so they chose to ignore it. They certainly wouldn't want to be filmed and recorded.

If I were one of those policeman and hadn't been advised -- I'd keep going too. But considering the sound and camera and other people, it is really illogical to accept that the policemen seemed "not to even notice" what was going on. And meanwhile the girls acted very much like they knew the policemen weren't going to help -- that's why they never stopped and approached the policemen, but just kept walking past them.

I believe from what I've heard that they only have ONE other person with them, a camera/sound man.

I'm not so sure about there. Here are some pictures of one segment being filmed in Canada. You will notice up to 10 "crew members" standing around watching. And in several you will see both a camera man and a separate sound man with a boom, not to mention the huge camera boom used for other shots:
http://hasbrouck.org/blog/archives/000376.html

But in any case in the scene we're talking about, there sure was a lot of stopping, rehearsing, and setting up. Because at one time the camera man was following them. A little while later they were walking towards him. Then he was off to the side of them shooting towards the same buildings they had just passed. Call me a cynic, but I think it's naive to believe that this is all just "natural" filming. Of course I realize when they're in a car there is only room for one other person. But also don't forget, the performers (and that's what they are) are aware of and performing for the camera at all times -- it isn't exactly hidden camera.

So it's bad enough to think that someone is so tacky that they would pull the Polish sausage line to a taxi driver, but it is far worse to realize that when she said it she knew it was being recorded and filmed and would hopefully make air time.

Truth to be said, the people in the Poland portion were not very friendly....they reminded me of my own experience with the people in Prague back in 1998; reserved bordering in rude. Yes, Charla made some stupid remarks, but who doesn't at one point or another; people in the service industry must have heard it all, why not take it in stride?

That said, I wrote down Cracow on the List of Must Visit Places.

It drives me crazy that every time Mirna and Sharla talk to someone in a foreign country, they put on a fake accent!!! Why can't they just speak normally!!

Ia m rooting for the cha-cha's as well - they are too funny!
