We took the Thalys from Paris to Amsterdam, quick stop at the airport, so I don't know how much. If I remember correctly, it's only a 20-30min train ride.

Takes 20 min by train, which is often faster than car.Buy the ticket in the main foyer, take the escalator down to the station, trains every 10 mins.

<BR>Depending on where you are staying, there is a KLM shuttle bus that runs to Amsterdam's main hotels. I think it costs 17 guilders a person. <BR> <BR>If your hotel is not close to Centraal Station or you have a lot of bags, it might be preferable to the train.

I took a taxi from our hotel (3 blocks from Centraal Station) on a Sunday morning (no traffic). It took about 25-30 minutes and cost me $36 in American dollars, tip not included.
