I think the Queen Mary might be just what you're looking for. We loved it and are returning in January.

Here are some in your price range but don't know about breakfast: Hotel de la Tamise, Burgundy, Relais Du Louvre, Place du Louvre, Brittanique. For more Paris information e-mail me - [email protected]

The Caron de Beaumarchais on rue Vielle de Temple meets your price criterion, and is highly recommended by all the tour guides. We stayed there in May, 1999 and were pleased. The location is unbeatable. Nonetheless, I wouldn't call the street "sleepy,"as the area is very popular.
You might also try the hotels on Ile Saint Louis(neither bank), the most charming area of Paris. With the dollar so strong against the franc there should be many good choices in your price range.

Bill: I second Rich's suggestions about Hotel de Fleurie.

Some others in the 6th arr (St. Germain):

Grand Hotel de L'Univers
6, Rue Grégoire de Tours

Clément
6, Rue Clément

Des Marronniers
61, Rue Jacob

Le Régent
61, Rue Dauphine

Relais Médicis
23, Rue Racine

You will find more suggestions here on this board when going back or at:
parisavenue.com
paris.org
pariserve.com
paris-touristoffice.com

Book as early as possible. All places are rather small and usually booked for months. You find some other nice places in the 7th (Bac/Eiffel Tower) or in 14th arr. (Montparnasse/St. Germain South).
Come back when narrowed down with any questions. Good luck!

I do not want to pedantic, but while the 6th, 7th and 14th arrondissements all have charms, they are not right bank districts.Booking early is always good advive in Paris. I've been shut out 4-6 months in advance when requesting a particular small hotel. I've also gotten less desireable rooms when i waited too long. Don't get married to staying at any particular hotel.
