Hotel in Sorrento?

Has anyone stayed at the Maison Meuble (recommended in Rick Steves) in Sorrento? Or does anyone have another suggestion for a low-budget, clean hotel in Sorrento?
Thanks!

I just made reservations at Hotel Desiree in Sorrento after reading all of the suggestions on this site. Do a search on "Sorrento" and you will see quite a few recommendations. I found that most places had openings but the sea-view rooms were all booked up for the second week in May, which is when I will be there. By the way, I have used Rick Steves' recommendations a number of times and have always been happy with his selections. His descriptions on the rooms are accurate. Have fun.

We stayed at Hotel City in Mar '97 (Corso Italia 221, ph 877-2210, left on Corso downhill from the train station). It was close to everything and there was a great grocery store right next door. We ended up staying 4 days, $28/night. We had rm 8 in back, very quiet, it had 2 beds, small balcony, bath, it was not fancy but it was clean, safe, central, inexpensive.

We loved it!
Sandy
Janet: My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Minerva last September - this hotel is also recommended by Rick Steves. Nearly all rooms have a breathtaking view of the Bay of Naples. We loved it and would definitely stay there again. Our room was really large and attractive with a balcony, good size bathroom, and breakfast was on the 5th floor veranda overlooking the Bay. The hotel is only a 10 minute walk from the town, but you do have to walk up a hill in case that is a problem. The rate last year was 260,000 lire, but cheaper if you have the Rick Steves guide book. This was the case with the 1999 Italy guide that we used. The phone number is 081 878 1011 and the fax number is 081 878 1949.
Have a great trip.

I'll second the Minerva recommendation and add that the rooftop pool is another attraction of the well-situated hotel. Spent about 20 minutes in Hotel City and promptly left. Too noisy and down at the heels for me. Also, LaTonnarella is lovely, but the owner is rather bizarre, as has been pointed out on another Sorrento thread. Enjoy Sorrento; very touristy, but still retains its charm.
