Ieper driving to Amsterdam - What to see between?
Hi Everyone,
We're planning a trip for September this year. We will have a car and have 4-5 days to drive from Ieper to Amsterdam where we will return the car to the airport. What should we see?
Options:
1. Brugge + Ghent
2. Brugge + Delf / The Hague
3. Brugge + ? + ?
Any interesting coast perhaps?
Something unusual?
We are older travellers but OK fitness wise....not too used to driving that side of the road so keen to steer clear of really big cities unless they are easy to get into and out of.
Thanks in advance.
Julie

I'm sorry Julie I thought it said leper. For the cities described you might find trains far easier than a car.
An interesting area you might enjoy is the south of Rotterdam, these islands have a number of small towns that have been there since the year dot and some fine little B&Bs and restaurants.
My favorites are Brielle, Ziereksee, Veere, Middleburg

I am sure a lot of people will say Brugge and Gent and both of those would be good choices. You could easily go into Brussels from Gent if you stay there--a very short train ride.
In the Netherlands, we really enjoyed a trip to the Kröller-Müller Museum (art museum and sculpture garden) in the Hoge Veluwe National Park, which you could also see on your way to Amsterdam. There are details about it and things to see in Brussels in my trip report from last year.
