Help with VRBO Paris rental

I rented an apartment in Paris through VRBO for the week of June 26-July 3. I e-mailed back and forth with the owner -Pascal and paid him the deposit by credit card. Since it is getting close to the time we leave I e-mailed him for directions and how to get the key. The e-mail came back as unknown address. I got on VRBO's site and contacted them but they haven't answered and I can't find a phone number anywhere on the site. I need help from anyone who has rented from them in how to contact them. Please help.

Cheriegal: We rented an apartment last year from VRBO through Pascal Zytomirski, who I suspect is the same person. He was great, conscientious, etc. and speaks English fluently. The email I have for him is [email protected]. The phone number I have is 33-614-650-933. I just did a google search on his name and a number of hits came up through various apartment rental sites. I'll bet you can track him down with a little bit of effort. Good Luck.

I am about to rent an apartment from this person (Pascal) and did a search for his name on this board. Two things worry me right now: One of them is this post. CHERIEGAL, if you are still checking the fodor website, could you please let me know how this turned out? Did you get in touch with him??

Second, the reason why I went to this person in the first place (listed in VRBO and rentalfrance,.com) was because I saw what I thought were a LARGE number of posters who had recommended him. Now, returning more carefully to these posts (through a search for Pascal Zytomirski, the name of the manager and/or owner) I find out that about 90% of these recommendations come from ONE person, -who enthusiastically and using the same language, often and enthusiastically backed this manager based on one experience she had in 8/2001 -- from 2001 to 2004!! She might be completely sincere and just extraordinarily loyal - but my antenna is up, and at the very least, I worry!!
I'm new to this board and am not sure if "hidden" advertisers are out there??

Should I worry?

Thanks for any words, Danielle

Let me just say first that so far, I have had very positive interactions with this person (rentalfrance.com). He's been super-responsive. Until I noticed the worried email from Cheriegal, then the "coincidental postings" (which may well be nothing more than that...), I was not at all worried! Danielle

gambader, I think you are looking for problems here. Most people will post frequently about a certain place or thing repeatedly, because they have not repeated such a good experience or that might have been their only one. It does not really mean there are hidden advertisements.
Pascal is a common name here when it comes to people talking about renting, if you saw on VRBO and some other sites, he and his wife manage or own many rentals.
cheriegal might have sent the email to a wrong address, there are phone numbers .. I spoke to him before we decided on ParisPerfect last spring. Now reading this- you could suppose that I am advertising for Paris Perfect! lol
Every person that I spoke to concerning apts with VRBO called me back and I was very confident that all of these people are reliable.

Thanks, Scarlett -- Point taken!! I did a little more research on the person who so enthusiastically endorsed Pascal and she sounds fine. It is a little unusual that in the space of 2 months, she endorsed him about 8 times -- which led me to worry - even another "regular" poster asked whether she was representing him. But you're right, I am now sure it was coincidental, because people happened to be asking about apartments all at the same time. Actually, in checking out her posts, I gained a lot of respect for her travel savvy, which actually helped with Pascal!!

I admit that I am being a little more hypervigilant than usual...first time with kid in tow and all. You would never know that before my late-in-life son was born, I had been a serial (and often lone) traveler since the age of 12!! It's amazing how kids will cause paranoia...!

THAT SAID -- I still welcome all experiences with REntalFrance/Pascal!!

Thanks!
