Help with Malpensa Express
I have read and reread instructions for taking the Malpensa Express from Cadorna to Malpensa but am still nervous about missing something. If I understand, we arrive at the staiion, purchase the ticket and the train delivers us to Terminal 1.
Questions:
1. Our plane departs at 10:40 on a Monday. Would we be safe taking the 7:27 arriving at 8:07 or is the station busy early on a Monday morning and we would be better off with the earlier trai departing at 6:57?
2. How far in advance of the departure time should we arrive to purchase tickets and get to the platform?
Thank you,
jane

The Malpensa Express train is very reliable. The 7:27 train should be fine. You shouldn't need more than 15 minutes to buy tickets and board the train. (The train may not actually arrive until 10-15 minutes before the departure time.)
The Cadorna station is not as big as Centrale, and the express train has its own platform (far left side the last time I took it a couple of years ago). When you arrive at Malpensa, you walk a short distance over an enclosed pedestrian bridge to reach the airport.

I finally used the Malpensa Express from Cadorna for the first time last year. I loved it, and I wish that I had used it on previous trips. It is a very small station, very clean and modern, with a definite commuter vibe. You can either buy your ticket in the machine, or, in the ticket office on the far right, after you enter. Also, you have to go inside the office. The train has its own track, and it was very clean, efficient, and fast. When you arrive (about 35 minutes) you go up an escalator to a large area where you look for departures. I much prefer it to the bus. I took the bus when I arrived to Milano Centrale, but I was taking a train from there. The bus ride took at least an hour, and it stopped (briefly) at one of the Fieras near Malpensa. You will be glad that you used Malpensa Express!

Italyss, I am going to Milan and was wondering if the Cadorna Station has elevators? We will have quite a few bags and won't be able to lug 50 pounds of luggage up several flights of steps. I thank-you for your info.

Can you take the Malpensa Express if going to Milan Central station? We will be taking a train from Central station to Salerno. Or is it better to take the shuttle bus from Malpensa to Central?
Thanks
