Heathrow Express

Hi, We will be in London in April 2011 and our Hotel is near Paddington Railway Station.(walking distance actually). As the cost of the Express from Heathrow is 16.50 GBP and there are 4 of us, will it be cheaper to get a taxi?

It will be the fastest way but the fare is around something like 15 or 16 pounds per...

A car service will take somewhat longer and probably half the price....

The tube will be the cheapest.

Car service is about the cost of 2 people on the HEX.

So unless you want to get there 15-30 minutes faster for twice the cost AND still have a walk at the end then get the HEX

You do not want to take the tube for sure - the stairways at Paddington are absolutely insane -- especially if arriving during the morning commute. Plus there you'd have to transfer lines.

You don't want to take the HEX - for 4 it would be outrageously expensive.

You don't want a cab - that would cost almost as much as the HEX.

You best options are either a car service like justairports (pre-booked). This wouldbe easiest by far since there is less walking at the LHR end and it is door-to-door service.

or

The Heathrow Connect which is much cheaper than the HEX but there is still quite a schlepp at both ends of the journey.

For me, w/four it is a no brainer -- book a car service.
