I know I never expect thanks when I offer an opinion or provide first-hand information, on this or any other board. I do so of my own volition, pure and simple. So how could I feel used?

The best way to show your appreciation to the board, though, is to add your 2 cents to the collective wisdom whenever you can. That's what's important here, IMO.

Paying 'em back with thanks is nice. But "paying it forward" with knowledge is vital.
