Actually, he and his wife broke up over something entirely different.
Lance Armstrong survived testicular, brain and lung cancer, so I think there is more to this than just the bike.

sinnedgh, I agree that he let fame go to his head. His wife stood by him through all his therapy and he thanked her by dumping her for another.

Regardless of what anyone thinks about Lance Armstrong's personal life, he has proved his will and ambition by winning the Tour 5 times after being given less than a 20% chance of living. Furthermore, I admire his commitment to cancer survivors and cancer research on both a local and national level. Good luck Lance!

I do not care about any sports figures or film stars or performers personal life . I go to see a talent or watch an exceptional athlete.

A friend of mine gave me yesterday a yellow Livestrong bracelet; I will wear it for Lance all through the Tour.

The big question: will Bob Roll say Tour DE France instead of Tour DAY France? I doubt it.

Interesting how the sports press and sports fans are outraged at Barry Bonds/Marion Jones and going after them for cheating is perfectly acceptable.

Yet, the allegations against Armstrong and the fervor of the French press are seen as anti-American. There is video showing his teams trainer driving 2 hours out of his way to dispose of garbage that contained hypodermic needles, blood products, etc. Armstrong used an Italian doctor with the history of blood-doping and his team's former massuese has stated she several times was privy to his use of peformance enhancing drugs.

American or not, wrong is wrong. IF he is cheating, he is a national disgrace.

Ryan: Your spew w/out a shred of evidence is outrageous.Lance is the most tested athlete in the world and the negative people with agendas that try to tear him down deserve all the ridicule we can muster.

Ryan: Your contention about the Massuuse etc. are LIES. That is not even what she contended even if you believe her.

Lance did not leave her for another woman. They had already filed. Don't be so quick to judge, there are 2 sides to every story. They spent many months apart while he trained. That is hard on any marriage. I have not heard Kristen bad-mouthing him; in fact she has showed courage and just completed her first marathon. Lance and other athletes who are amazingly talented will always be accused of cheating. Lance has been tested in a physiolgy lab and found to have exceptional lung capacity and function. That is primarily a genetic trait. He gives generously of his time and talent to support cancer research, education and to promote health to children. He has always been a good sport and a good role model and a PROUD American who makes me proud when I see his hard work and courage. Allez Lance!!!

I hope he wins it, but if he doesn't, hey, he licked cancer and won five Tours de France. Not too shabby.
