Globus tour

This is going to be our first trip to Italy and have been leaning towards booking with Globus. Has anyone had any experience with them on an Italian tour?

We took a Globus Tour to Italy in 1992. I think it was called the Italian Mosiac. It was a really good tour, with a great guide and bus driver. Our only complaint was the hotel in Rome, (I can't remember the name) but all the other hotels were great. We have taken several Globus trips and have enjoyed them.

We took the Italian Mosaic Tour last year. We would definately recommend it and I could give you lots of details if you want to e-mail me with questions.
We are planning a trip this summer and the mosaic tour is under consideration. We are also looking at Club ABC and Central Holidays as well as Perillo. It's difficult to make a decision. Is the Mosaic tour too much going up and down Italy in 14 days. Does it leave enough room to soak in some local color.
Thanks
Barbara

We took the Globus Mosaic tour last July and it was wonderful. We had a terrific guide and driver and met wondeful people. The hotel in Rome Paco Terrene (sp?) was awful but the others ranged from very good to wow. Be sure to read, read, read the brochure to be sure you know what is included and what you THINK is included. Many on our tour didn't and were upset by the "extras" they were not aware of. The optional tours for the most part were a definite plus and worth building into your budget. Feel free to email with more questions.

We took a Globus tour to Italy and other European countries last summer. We liked everything except the hotels. Most were ok, but all were kind of out of the way - too far from city center to comfortably do things on your own.I think they do that partly to save money and partly to encourage you to sign up for the extra excursions, most of which were very worthwhile.
