Gay Friendly Italy

I'm going to be in northern Italy (Milan, Venice, Bologna and the Dolomites) September 11-27. Looking for gay hotel/restuarant/club suggestions.

Damron guides (www.damron.com)remain the premier resource for international gay travel, usually available at larger book stores (e.g., Barnes & Noble, Borders) Also try a look at www.outandabout.com though I think subscription is required.

To borrow a suggestion from another post a few weeks ago, might I suggest the book "Europe through the back door."

Your barf comment just shows what a bigot you are. Hope you realize that gay people are SMART to check out stuff like this beforehand - precisely because of the attitude that your comment suggests.

Actually Frank - straights can learn a lot from gays. But you probably already know that (wink, wink). Just remember - even when a guy f**ks you as long as you don't kiss you can keep telling yourself and others you're straight - we won't tell, promise.

You don't say how old your are, so if your are over 30 you probably won't find it helpful, but if you are younger you may wish to try the Lonely Planet Guides and (related) Thorntree website. My secretary, an openly gay male, finds these invaluable places for trip planning with very useful tips and dialogue. It was he that got me hooked on travel related websites.
