France Train Help

I am going to Provence with 2 friends in June. I think I've figured out what trains would be best but would appreciate any feedback.

We arrive at CDG on 6/20 at 7:35am. I think the best train to Avignon would be the Roissy - Avignon at 11:43, cost seems to be 255 Euro total for all 3. We will be in Provence for 1 week and then spend a few days in Paris. So for the return I am looking at Avignon - Paris on 6/27 at 8:05am and cost seems to be 165 Euro (PREMS still available).

Does this seem correct?

I looked at the Saver pass since we'll be travelling together but it's slightly more expensive at $215 each.

Thanks for any advice!

Sounds to me like you've done your homework. I assume you checked for PREMs on the outgoing leg?

StCirq thanks for your reply. My biggest problem was figuring out that I needed to put in Roissy instead of CDG.

Is there a special way to check for PREMs? I just put in our cities, date and number of people and 1st and 2nd class fares came up. The PREMS for the return was listed along with the other fares. There wasn't one for the outgoing leg so I assumed PREMs were no longer available.

6/20 is a Saturday - peak day and peak time. I tried to find PREMS for CDG to Bordeaux on Friday 6/12 - 5 mins after PREMS first became available 3 months in advance. There were none listed. I purtchased 1st class regular. next day, regular fares went up for the same trip.

Prems can go in a hurry. I decided late to take these 3 days at Riboto (where I am at the moment). My trip down today was 45 euros first class upper...my return on Thursd was 75 eutos 1st class upper

Hi el,

>Is there a special way to check for PREMs?<

No. If they aren't listed, they aren't available.

I checked the prices out of Paris, as well.

You have the best price for that day.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm off to buy the tickets before the PREMS disappear.
