Fodors and Sharing

G'Day,
Fodors has been a great travel resource for so many years. Every place I go, I use their books, and see other travellers use
Fodors books as well. And of course, this web site has become such an invaluable source of information for travellers as well.
Fodors has shared information with us and provided this space for us to share.

I too wanted to share some information as
well...about a web site that gives away free online travel guides and a travellers database. The guides are growing leaps and
bounds every month as is the database of
travellers. Many travellers have come to know it as a center of information.

Have yourself a visit and see if it may be a resource or maybe you would like to contribute to a guide or two. Constructive
suggestions are always appreciated.
Cheers,
Sean
http://www.BootsnAll.com

Nice site, Sean, but doesn't your post qualify as advertising?

Fair enough, Hope I didn't affend anyone. Nevertheless, I do agree that the 4/99 Paris article is not a well rounded view of Paris, more of a one off story on part of it. Where would you recommend finding more current travel info on Paris? Anyone out there from Paris and who may like to share current info with other travellers?

Cheers,

Sean
http://www.BootsnAll.com

I just wanted to let fodorites know that I received a private email from this concern, from a Brian Moreth [I think] inviting me to visit this site. IMHO that is using information from this site for advertising purposes. I would be interested to hear if anyone else received such an email.
Yes, s. fowler, I received the same message. I was under the impression that one's email address was, right or not, up for grabs on the internet, which is why I try to use this hotmail address here (or anywhere on the internet) and not my regular email address.
I realize my email address is up for grabs. I was just bringing to your attention my experience to see if others had received similar mail. Not much to be done but to bring it into the open
Sally I also received an email to my 'stellarossa' account from this guy.

Sean, if I wanted to visit your site I would have done without the 'invitation' email. I didn't as a matter of fact and I wont either.

Sally and Tony, I'm with you. I don't want spam, and I don't want to hear what spammers have to say about world travel.

yup, I got the e-mail too. I had visited the site previously, and found not much that interested me. After I got the spam I was quite turned off.

s.fowler,
I just wondered if they decided to send to peoples' emails after getting a negative response for advertising here. I guess it's like telephone soliciting - it just annoys people. In the world of spam I'd rather get the travel related stuff than the smut.
Hi Wes, April, John, Tony and Beth,

I think I did better by receiving an e-mail directly from Sean after my July 2nd posting. He asked if I know anyone who could share Paris ideas for his web site.

Let's keep Fodors clean from
advertising and stick to travelling topics that we all seek and give advise about. We help each other. I do not advertise my products or services and I do not feel it is right for others to do this as well.

Yes - I also received e-mail from this guy - and although I was interested because this was a SPAM I ignored it as all other SPAMs. Even if someone was giving out gold SPAMing is not the way to go for your advertising. I guess we all have to be carefull where do we post our info shame on www.BootsnAll.com!!!

Anybody get SPAM on HinaT (TM)...or was that HINAT(TM) on Spam?
Darn, Hellie, bummer 'bout your being left out. Are you, perhaps, wearing a crispy pink jogging suit?

H in a T(tm) needs no advertising -- it's the product that sells itself!
