Florence to Pisa, How far by car???
It's our first trip to Europe this May. We are planning to Drive to Pisa from Florence on our way to our B&B in Sienna. Is this a wise move or will it be better to check in our Sienna B&B first then Drive out to Pisa on another day? What's the chronology of sites to see in Tuscany if we are based in Sienna ( after Tuscany we drive down to Rome)??

Pisa and Siena are in different directions and you'd probably have to backtrack to Florence to go to Siena. Take a look at mappy.com for driving distances and maps. It's 98 km from Florence to Pisa. Also, if you're driving in Italy you should buy a good map before you get there.
I think it's easier to take the train from Florence to Pisa (1 hour) for a day trip or a half day trip. For one thing I don't like leaving luggage in a parked car unless it's out of sight.
If you're using Siena as a base do you plan on driving to any place that is north of Siena/Florence? If so I would check into your B&B and then day trip from there.
Don't understand your question about "chronology of sites" in Tuscany.

Hi val,
You can also use www.viamichelin.com for driving directions.

What do you want to see?
Are you arriving in Pisa?
Is this a motor trip?

Yes, Ira. We intend to rent the car in Florence then drive to Borgo Argenina, where we booked for 4 nights. It is located in Chianti near Sienna. I can;t figure out how to include Pisa. Here is our iti ( all hotels are booked already)
May 20- Florence
May 21- Drive to Chianti, check in B&B
May 22- Around Sienna , San Gimigniano
May 23- Arezzo, Cortona
May 24- Assisi, Montepulciano, Spoleto
May 25- Drive to Rome, must check in by 3pm.
If we take the train to Pisa from Florence, how long do we need just to see the leaning tower then go back to the hotel to check out & drive to Chianti... ???
HELP!!!

Hi Valmoon,
You have a very nice motor trip planned.
Since you only have 1 day in Florence, I wouldn't suggest taking time from there to go to Pisa.
www.viamichelin.com says it's about an hour's drive from San Gim to Pisa.
