Florence - Hotel Pendini

My sister and I stayed there on one trip. It is on the top floor of a building (it seems that many Italian "hotels" are actually just one floor of a building and there may be other "hotels" in the same building -- at least that's what we found in Rome and Florence). The breakfast room overlooks the square and is quite lovely. The hotel is family run and quite progressive and efficient. There was a computer next to the front desk for guests to use for internet/e-mail access. We liked this hotel a lot.

Hi Amy,
I stayed there for a week with my sister & my mom and really liked it.
It is noisy on weekned nights, there is a band outside. Great location. Nice family, and they'll help with a lot of stuff....they'll get you tickets for the Uffizzi (email them now for this....) so you don't have to wait in line.
They'll also recommend great restaurants for you. I really liked it.

I'd like to add to what Burta wrote. Seems like a couple of brothers run this hotel, and are probably Gen X-ers judging from their age & progressiveness. Every guest got a free Hotel Pendini mousepad, and everyone who has seen my mousepad says it's the coolest one they've ever seen. Also, their restaurant recommendations on their website are very good.

Hi Amy- Stayed at the Pendini beginning of November for 5 days. Our room was the family suite on the top floor which meant we had to walk up a spiral staircase. The room was "L" shaped which meant to get to the bathroom everyone came through the master bedroom. Room came with outside 2 chair deck.

The staff took the bags up the steps for us. We ended up calling it the "Heidi Suite". Staff was very helpful and we appreciated using the e-mail systems. Great location to see all the Florence sights and be able to return to the hotel for a mid-day rest.
Hope you enjoy your trip.
