Ferry services from Capri
Do Ferry services run from Capri to Positano in early October? Are there web-sites that have these schedules?
Is this the best way to get to Positano from Naples?
I have will be traveling with my elderly parents and the bus might be too much for them. Taxi services are an option but I am thinking that the ferry might be cheaper. Any advice?

Diane,
last autumn ferry services were regular until third week of September.
In my opinion, the best way to get to Positano from Naples is ferry Napoli - Sorrento and then taxi service or, cheaper, normal bus from Sorrento to Positano.
If there will be problems with sea, for Sorrento is comfortable also train from Naples.
Have a nice trip.

Hello Diane,

If you are travelling from Naples with elderly relations and luggage, I'd reccommend booking a limo.

Unless you are staying by the beach, arriving by ferry with luggage is not ideal anyway, - it's a steep climb up the hillside to most of the hotels.

................................... .....

Hello Laura,

I believe the Positano-Capri service runs into early October, depending on weather and with reduced frequency - but I defer to Vincenzo on that.

The Sorrento-Capri service is a year-round service.

For timetables and info see:
www.capri.net/home/en/transport.php

Let me know if I can be of more help ...

Steve

Hi Diane,

It is really easy just to get a car service. We did this, and it worked out great, especially since you drive right by Herculeanum and can stop there for an hour to see the ruins on the way back or to Naples. We used Positano Limo Service 5 Stars and were very pleased (new Mercedes, english-speaking, etc.).
