Euroshell website problems?
I think it was Rex who put me on to this great website for finding driving routes, distances, and times and I have used it often. But even thought I have always connected by my "favorites" bookmark, I have been unable to connect for about a week now. I always get a "Web site cannot be found" message. If I type in the address I get the same thing. Has it changed or disappeared? Meanwhile does anyone know of another similar site for logging distances, driving times, and routes in Europe?

Don't know about the Shell site, Patrick. When I use Shell I go directly to heir relevant page <BR>http://www.shellgeostar.com/route/routePlan.asp <BR> <BR>I have no trouble accessing this. <BR> <BR>On the other hand, though, I much prefer the Michelin site. IMO the travelling times as given by Michelin are closer to reality. Also, when one has stop overs, the Michelin site is IMO more conveniet to use. As a bonues it gives you other free info as toll costs, hotels, restaurants, detailed map, etc. once you learn how to use it efficiently. <BR> <BR>http://www.michelin-travel.com/eng/sommaire.cgi <BR> <BR>For a simple query just use the appropriate boxes at left bottom of page. For an extended itinerary use the <prepare your route> function. <BR> <BR>Paulo <BR>

Hi Patrick, <BR>I've used the Michelin-travel site plus Euroshell and also www.mappy.com and <BR>www.mapquest.com <BR>I recently did a comparison study off all 4 (Madrid-Salamanca) and found that michelin-travel.com gave me the most accurate driving time-completely agree with Pablo! The other sites gave me a longer driving time than is actually necessary. I'll continue to use Michelin. <BR>

Thanks all, I'll try each of these. Recently I was working on the Euroshell site and they were giving me a time of driving nearly the entire West coast of Corsica -- very winding and mountainous I understand -- in just a couple of hours. I certainly thought that was quite unrealistic based on what others have told me. I will be especially curious to see what these sites tell me.
