El Fuerte Hotel in Marbella

Has anyone stayed there? Would you stay there again?

We just returned from Marbella... El Fuerte is a great three-nice four star hotel. I think it is the oldest larger hotel in Marbella. Competent and friendly staff, good location on the beach, bars restaurants etc. We stayed at their new sister hotel El Fuerte Miramar Spa. It is a couple of hundred yards up the beach. Great breakfast buffet and very good staff. Clean and NEW, opened last May. Secure parking garage under hotel, all the western ammenities, CNBC, CNN mini-bar electronic safe etc. The lounge has live entertainment every night including a pretty good Flamenco show. Free! We will stay their again or we would also stay at El Fuerte

Thank you for your response. Which hotel do you prefer, the El Fuerte or the Miramar? Is one in a better location?
i agree with Jim.
Stayed there last December and liked it very much. It has a certain old world feeling about it, you can see it was made in the fifties, but it is very well preserved. Wonderful breakfast and breakfast room overlooking the sea.
Great chiringuito or seaside informal restaurant right by the water. Very nice bellboy, about 15 years old, that happens to be the owner´s son!
I forgot to say that to get their best
rates, go through their website, they have very nice internet specials.
Also, their sister hotel El Fuerte Conil is wonderful, on the Cadiz province. Much better beaches than in Marbella !
They are also opening a new hotel this month in the Sierra area of Cadiz, called El Fuerte Grazalema. They have,t posted pictures yet, but it sounds great and the location in the mountains is gorgeous.
www.fuertehoteles.com

Hola Olga,
I really enjoy reading your personal, insider feedback about hotels in Andalucia. Glad you enjoyed the El Fuerte too. We sent friends there, a family with 3 teenagers, and they liked it very much-the beach and downtown location were great, just perfect for the kids. I had read about a large hotel that was being built in Grazalema in "Turismo Rural" but didn't know the name; some reader was lamenting its size and the danger of its bringing too much tourism to the town-they must have been referring to the new El Fuerte?
Regards,
Maribel
