EIffel Tower Closed?

A friend of mine returned from Paris today. Reported that the Eiffel Tower is closed from the second level up! They walked to the second level and could got go to the top because of repairs, etc.

Does anyone know how long this will last? Have looked forward to going to the top!

Jen your best bet is to check out the tower's web site at www.eiffel-tour.fr

I checked the schedule of hours and they didn't make any reference to it being closed for any reason...but an e-mail to them would probably answer your question.

Good luck!

Daniel
Thanks, Daniel! I thought maybe this was an "off-season" deal, but then traffic should still be pretty heavy there right now, I would think. In hopes that in October everything will be up and running, from the Eiffel Tower to the areas affected by the petrol/farmers protest!

On September 11, I was there at 22:30 (10:30 at night); the sign said that last ride up to the top was 22:00 and the last ride up to the second level was at 23:00. We didnt do either, but I did see an elevator (car) coming down right about then (from the top). It could have been service people I suppose, but I suspect that it was open for business as usual.

I don't know what your friend experienced.

Best wishes,

Rex

Not to worry even if the second level IS closed. My husband and I found that getting to the first level was easy and the view was great; the trip to the second level, however, was a long, long wait (over an hour) and somehow, the view wasn't all that different. My advice is to skip the second level, unless the wait is short. The first level really does have a good view.

We went up the Eiffel Tower on September 5 and we could only go to the second level due to repairs. I'm not sure when it said it would reopen, but it didn't seem like a lengthy closing. The view from the second level was nice though.
