Has anyone ever rented from this site??
Can't find out what kind of cars are available. We will prop. use autoeurope but thought I'd check into a couple of other sites first. Thanks

There is a place on their website that lists what car is available at what pick up point. They only have 1 car available at each location. I've never rented from them, but if you do can you let us know how it is..I'm thinking of using them next year...

I once saw them list something called a Mercedes A3, I have no idea what that is. You will not have a choice of car, that's supposedly part of the price deal.

They're all Mercedes A3's, or clones of it. Perfect for parking in European cities - but some Americans might find them a tad small. So might most pygmies.
EasyCar also has some other quirks: Very high mileage charges after, I think, 75 miles a day (and miles can rack up, even in the smallest European countries), a reputation for creativity in finding damage to the car, savage cleaning charges, and an obsession with very precise return times. The founder is the son of a ship-owner, and the business model is very close to chartering an oil tanker.Like all the Easy products, it's great value if you're confident you can cope with their system

Just after they started, I heard that their cars were covered with advertising -- like giant letters spelling out EasyCar.com. Is that still true? I can't imagine making myself stand out any more as a tourist in traffic than driving a car like that.

Its true...they do have a lot of advertising all over them. I saw them when I was in Europe in April and May

We hired using easycar in Geneva. We were so pleased I wrote an email to Stelios to say thank you.

Some of you have been misinformed: there were lots of cars available in Geneva, all the Mercedes A Class type. This IS a small car, but we were glad of that when negotiating mountain roads and trying to park in Annecy!

Easycar has simplified its criticised (and rightly so) accidental damage procedures, now when you book you pay an upfront fee to cover accidental damage so there's no quibbling when you return the car.

Another thing to be aware of: they expect you to return the car clean. If you don't you will be charged ten pounds. We cleaned the car just outside Geneva for three pounds, and it took five minutes.

We hired the car for six days and paid fifty pounds, which was a quarter of what competitors were quoting me. You can book on the web site in advance, and just take along all the documentation. Yes, there is a mileage allowance - 100km per day, and after that 8 pence per kilometre.

It's probably best suited to a trip like my husband and I did - we drove 700km in five days, with not too much luggage, and were really pleased.

I used them in Spain this past April. The A-car is fine for 2 people--I have rented it 3 times in Europe. If you can live with the decals, you can save about 50%. Very limited pick-up and drop locations--all in major gateway cities.
