We just returned from 2 weeks in a camper van. There is not a lot of lodging options in the eastern fjords. Hofn has several places. We happen to drive up a farm road and saw this place -Lækjarhús Guesthouse. The rooms were small but immaculate and there was a shared kitchen available.

We stayed in Hofn and Seydisfjordur. The latter was one of my favourite stops on the Ring Road. Beautiful little village. I wish we'd stayed there two nights in fact. We stayed at Vid Lonid in Seydisfjordur which was gorgeous.

We're renting an apartment at Guesthouse Sara in Egilsstadir.
Like the apartment very much and find the location convenient.

I would double down on Seydisfjordur. We stayed two nights and wish we had stayed three. It is small but has good restaurants and hiking trails.
