I sometimes click on USA And quote temps and highways California way West Coasties arrivals are based on time In Lotus land the sun always shines We love to zoom from mountain to coast Then dine, stroll, shop and check the next post. Lately there have been fat debates The airline codes that make us wait The crying babies and smokers we just hate And where to honeymoon with the new mate. We razz eachother about whats under those kilts And tease the Brits about veggys that wilt. Then there's so many questions about what to wear Will the Pope still see me if I have purple hair? Do the gypsies take Amex or ride British Air? When in Prague can I rent a Corvair? There are some notes about spam in my box Or whether or not Nutella rocks. And just what should I see when in the Loire? Don'tcha read road atlases any more? Why, if I wear short shorts am I treated like a whore? Does that Chunnel reach from shore to shore? Can people fry their hagis or eat them with Smores? Should I rent a Renault with 4 or 2 doors?

We've been planning over a year, For our trip to Italy. Reading numerous guidebooks, mapping out the sights tio see. I've found Fodor's Europe forum to be very helpful, Asking questions and getting advice. Even though some people like to b**ch and moan, Most people seem very nice. I can't wait to see Rome, And then visit the Pope. To get a Papal blesing, If we can get tickets...I hope! My husband will serenade me, In a gondola in a romantic canal, Venice will be the favorite, For this very lucky gal. We'll be onto Florence next, Visiting Museums and the Duomo. We'll see David and the Uffizi, I can't wait until we go.

Oh, it was one of those "my worst airline experience was worse than your worst airline experience" threads. I reckon it was late winter-early spring. For some reason I think it was a story about an arrival in Puerto Rico, but maybe my memory is creaky. It was kinda like a Poe story, as I recall it -- dripping, dripping from the overhead compartment, complaints ignored, and on arrival the gross packet revealed itself. It was not in verse, however, and I look forward to seeing what the worst minds of Fodor's can do with it.

As memory serves me vaguely: it was either a thread with people complaining about airlines, or the worst place/thing one has ever experienced. I think there may have been some mention of Haggis (pre In-A-Tube (TM)), however it was not a maggot thread.

D.B., Haggis-in-a-Tube(TM) is disgusting enough without mentioning it in the same sentence as maggots. I say we make a pact and not get involved in this.
