Dresden trip

Am at the Dresden airport waiting for a flight to Frankfurt and on to Washington Dulles. Enjoyed visiting Dresden with a day trip to Prague.

It is quite easy getting around Dresden using the trams. There is a map at each tram station and the lines that service each stop are posted clearly with the direction of travel easily identified. At most of the stations in the city, there is a displaz identifzing the next four trains and how long until they arrive.

I did get to see a ballet at the Semperoper called Ein Sommersnachtstraum.

Considering how busy Prague was on Feb 21, I imagine it would be wall to wall tourists come summertime. It took me a bit of time to figure out how to get around Prague. The Holosovice station is the secondary station. I was not able to get info until I got to the main station.

The people in Dresden are friendly and I look forward to coming back, after the Frauenkirche is completed.

I did notice that a train at the Dresden Hbf was bound for Wroclaw.

The seat I had for the ballet had an obstructed view, but it cost only 6 Euros. I got it from the information office across the street. There were a couple of guys selling tickets outside the front door (ballet ticket scalpers). They were there again on Sunday night with tix for the closed performance of Die Fliedermaus.

Mon, May 10th: Jazz at the opera
Tue, May 11th: Cosi fan tutte (Mozart)
Wed, May 12th: Illusions - like swansea (ballet, Tschaikowsky/Neumeier)

Some tickets can be purchased online, for others you can send a request per email.

BTW, I replied to your other email.
